A treasure chest for the sheet music
collector!
A large stock of music that was
in storage for many years was acquired from a music dealer. This
music is not used music; it has never been sold. So Classical Music Publications is able to offer
some titles and arrangements that
are now out of print, and also older editions of current music at a
reduced price.
When they're gone, they're gone.
Come and see what you can discover!

Classical Music Publications
was begun by Sharan Sacks in 1991 as a part-time home-based business.
It continued in that form for several years. After a period of
dormancy, CMP has re-emerged in
its present form, as a full-time business in its own storefront location.
Sharan has played classical guitar for
many years, having studied with several Southern California university-level
instructors, including David Grimes (head of the guitar department at
California State University Fullerton), a short time with Frederick Noad (of
the PBS instructional series and author of many guitar method books and
anthologies), many years with Cornel Imry (formerly assistant
professor of guitar at California State University Fullerton, the University
of California Irvine and California State University Dominguez Hills, now
teaching privately), and most recently at Santa Ana College with David Adele
and Oliver Althoen.
For over 25 years Sharan sang in a local
congregational choir. She has sung for 4 years in Santa Ana College's Santa
Ana Singers, for 1 1/2 years in their Chamber Choir, and has studied voice
with Dr. Elliott Jones at Santa Ana College and privately with Holly Jones.
She has performed ensemble music both as a classical guitarist and as
a singer in duets and trios with flutists and other singers.
Sharan holds a bachelors degree from
California State University Fullerton with a major in Spanish language and
literature and a minor in music. She also holds a masters degree from
CSUF in linguistics. In August 2007 she completed an Associate of Arts
degree with a major in music from Santa Ana College, with an emphasis in
classical guitar and choral/vocal music .
In addition to running Classical Music
Publications, Sharan teaches private lessons in beginning and intermediate
basic or classical guitar. She also teaches both a kids and an adult
beginning guitar class as part of Santa Ana College's Community Services
program.
